Sins of tongues are a heart problem. “For out of the abundance of his heart he speaks.” Luke 6:45
Double-mindedness is also a heart problem. “Purify your heart, you double-minded.” James 4:8
But a carnal mind is associated with disobedience in offering your body as a living sacrifice to God.
You crucify your flesh to strengthen your spirit. You offer your body to God to receive a renewed mind, so that you will know the will of God, which is good, acceptable, and perfect. (Romans 12:2)
If you can’t repent of your sin of lust—by repentance, I mean making a decision to cut it out—you will NEVER discover the best that God has reserved for you.
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1-2
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.” 1 Thessalonians 4:3-7
“Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power. Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.” 1 Corinthians 6:13-15
