Thanks Alice for sharing your thoughts and experience with fasting. Quite inspiring. Your words fell right into place for me. By the way, for what it is worth, I have noticed in my own observations, that - prior to lust is wanting. And prior to wanting is desire. And prior to desire is intention. And prior to intention is motive. And prior to motive is Conscious Presence. And that means the end is very near for any robotic, reactive behaviour.
Alice, thank you for your faithfulness unto fruitfulness! I am truly blessed by this and the other messages you bring. I am reminded of John 7:17, "If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority." I believe your writing will bear fruit that remains. Thank you.
You are right about fasting. However, as a man, I would call it eye fast. Every time I notice something attractive, I intentionally look away, depriving the dopamine hit. It is a pain (fasting state) every time I do that. It is only then I become free in Christ. One thing that I ask, that I may gazed upon the beauty of the Lord (Psalm 27:4). This is what we should strive after. Finally, don't be fooled that lust will go away forever just because of past victories. It is a daily fast and everyday battle (how many of us have failed?). Pray to avoid temptations everyday as Jesus said.
Eye fast is what you do in practice but it’s unlikely to keep doing it without being filled with the Spirit. There’s no way carnal believers can do eye fast consistently without anything more fulfilling to keep their eyes on. Fasting from food is the only way to crucify our flesh—all the other “fast”, like “social media fast”, is a good habit but it won’t fill you with the Spirit, and therefore it’s not transformative, it has no power of God working in you, and it won’t work long-term.
In my experience, it is only when I fill with the Holy Spirit and develop very strong relationship with God, would I be able to do eye fast. Love God with all our heart, mind and soul. It means do whatever it takes to love God, let that be fasting or whatever. Please consider to write more about this subject as Christian Youtuber Sean McDowell's new video, he said in a study, they found majority of Christians think p**n is healthy. Effeminization of men pandemic.
Soul-smashingly blunt. From your fingers to many eyes hopes I, a sinner.
Thank you brother! The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. Rise and praise Him🔥

Oh boy. Then that “majority of Christians” aren’t Christians. This word “Christians” is abused.
Question: why did you say “stop half-assing your faith”? Was there not a better way to put that?
The impact was accomplished.
Where did effeminate come from in 1 Corinthians chap 6? It's not in my Bible
KJV
I was using a NASB
