"The secret of the Lord is for those who fear Him"—not for those who love Him. Counterintuitive? This post will fix your misperception of "the fear of God."
Thank You Alice. A lot of things are much clearer & make more sense to me now. You are a gifted teacher Alice. Gifted!!! [[[Would you please remember me in prayer for Discernment, to hear unmistakably, the Voice of God for Direction in my life. And then for the Courage to step out in Faith to Fulfill my Destiny for my life. Fear is Crippling. But the Fear of God as a Motivator, let it be Greater!!! God Bless You Mightily Alice.]]]
This is really great as I believe you are 100% spot on about the lack of this teaching and deeper commitment. However, when you look into the definitions of both Hebrew and Greek lexicon for original word (יָרֵא - yare and phobos) use of fear, it does mean to be afraid and instilled with terror, in addition to the deep reverence and commitment to obeying God.
A good example that this definition of being afraid with a healthy fear is true, is in the context of Matthew 10:28:
“And do not fear those who can kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell”
We see the same fear people have for man and demons being prescribed for us to apply toward our Father and Creator.
This is good, I reached a similar conclusion about the American way of speaking about Yeshua Jesus the Christ Messiah.
“It’s everywhere, in the streets, on signs. It’s in your catchphrases.”
It pisses me off how they casually blaspheme the name—and makes me question their devotion.
And the fear of the Lord—every time an angel appeared to reveal the future before a prophet or a simple guard, it scared all who witnessed the Messenger.
Deeeeep! “If you don’t fear God, you refuse to do His will.”
1 Thessalonians 4:3 (Amp)”For this is the will of God, that you be sanctified [separated and set apart from sin]: that you abstain and back away from sexual immorality;”🙂🙏

That makes sense.
