To your juicy detail:

Deutoronomy 21 (KJV):

22 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:

23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

The same "juicy detail" repeats with Jesus :-). If you did not die fast enough, they would break your bones, which would lead to quick(er) death, so that they can remove you from the "tree" before sunset. But it would violate the prophecy (for Jesus) - that no bone will be broken. So he had to die before the sunset.

This is correct. Also fits well with a lot of the laws about being clean: a lot of the time you were deemed “unclean until evening” for being around unclean things (e.g. touching carcass or blood as in Leviticus 11:24-25). If you were unclean, you weren’t allowed to bring offerings to the Lord.

Also, in those time the day was the period between sunset to sunset, so sunset marked the end of that day and the beginning of the next. So, you were basically deemed unclean for an entire day, until the end of the day, which is evening (at sunset).

So, the kings’ carcasses were not to be allowed to remain hanging past evening for they would be hanging for another day, thus making the land which is given to the Israelites unclean.

I love your point in chapter 3 when the Israelites had to get their feet wet in the Jordan river. I’ve always haphazardly brushed over this part but looking at it now, it’s super important!

Looking at my life and connecting this, I need to get my feet wet, I need to get out of my comfort zone and trust the Lord. I’m sure the Jordan river didn’t have nice warm water, I’m imagining it being cold and uncomfortable - but they needed to walk in nonetheless.

Great bible study Alice, thank you!

JESUS CHRIST did Break the Gates of hell while HE was dead. 1 Corinthians 2:7-8 and the Septuagint reading of Psalm 24 talk about this. The princes that THE KING OF GLORY defeated in hell are the riders of the pale horse from Revelation 6:8. Contrast Hebrews 2:14-15 with Revelation 1:18 and see that the way things were for the dead in compartmentalized sheol (LUKE 16:21-) is now as described in 2 Corinthians 5:8 for the Born Again because JESUS THE KING OF GLORY spoiled the strongman's house, and led captivity captive like it says in Psalm 68 and Ephesians 4. GOD BLESS YOU Sister just wanted to give back as I have been Blessed by you.

I think doing this type of video is good. Especially when you're discussing chapters of the Bible that tend to be neglected. Like you said, there are many sermons on the first two chapters of Joshua, but not so many on the next chapters.

The first thing you mentioned about God telling them they needed to get their feet wet in the Jordan made me think of something. God wants to remind us of what He has done in the past like you said, but often the steps of faith He wants us to take seem small and insignificant in the moment. But overtime, they add up to something truly great; in this case, the Israelites taking the promised land.

Lately, God has been teaching this idea to me about giving lately. It takes small acts of faith, giving an extra dollar here and there, to give beyond a tithe. But I believe it will add up to something great in the future.

Always ask God for guidance in every season of your life.

i come to this world at 7 December 2000. In my conscience i always believe God Jesus Christ is The True and Only God without any proof except faith alone. the most important thing in this world is our *heart attitude* so Lord God could fully use us as His tool.

Rome 5:3-4

and not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience, and experience, hope:

Lord will show His Way.

Galathians 6:9

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

in other word.

i have no ambition.

My Only wish is for my God to have all the best fruit to enjoy forevermore with all His people with right *heart attitude*.

Great stuff! You are preaching the truth. God wants us to be intentional. God wants us to be fierce. “From the time of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of God suffers violence and the violent do take it by FORCE” !

The Bible is a living and active Word (Hebrews 4:12), and each time we engage with it, God has the ability to reveal something new to us. Our understanding of Scripture deepens as we grow spiritually, face different life circumstances, and gain wisdom through the Holy Spirit.

Reading the same passage multiple times can bring fresh revelations because God’s Word is layered with truth that meets us exactly where we are. What we might have overlooked in one season of life may become profoundly meaningful in another. This is why meditating on Scripture (Psalm 1:2) and continually seeking God’s wisdom are vital for our faith journey.

Additionally, listening to sermons and biblical teachings exposes us to different interpretations and applications of Scripture. God uses pastors, teachers, and fellow believers to challenge and encourage us, broadening our perspective. Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another,” emphasizing the importance of learning from others.

Ultimately, God speaks to us in various ways—through His Word, through His people, and through the circumstances He allows in our lives. The key is to remain open, humble, and teachable, always seeking Him with a heart ready to receive.

Thanks for taking the time to share. I enjoyed your first Bible Study and look forward to more in this new series from you. Cheers!

Sorry sister but you seem too much in your head trying to analyze everything written in the bible. You just need silence and feel your connection with god and feel him on your central nervous system and becoming your own master to rise up and connect with him. It's up to everyone to do the work and only pure desire for your spiritual ascent I know you are a sincere seeker but you're going to not have God's awareness by thinking about it so much i feel. peace. :)
