The Secret of Your Destiny is in Your Name
The greatest secret of God is timing. The two greatest secrets of Creation are number and name.
He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.
Revelations 13:16-18
When God changes your destiny, He first changes your name.
Names prophesy destiny.
Names are not just your tag; they are who you are.
Every name is associated with a number, called Gematria.
The number 666 is a name.
The Name Jesus (Hebrew: Yeshua יֵשׁוּעַ, Greek: Iēsous Ἰησοῦς) is a number.
And that number is 888.
The higher the number, the higher the name, the higher the person.
Thus, metaphorically and literally, “His name is above all names.”
The Name Yeshua, the Name of Jesus, His very Name—the pronunciation, the declaration, the calling of this name—unlocks the power of authority, royalty, and dominion.
The greatest secret of God is timing. The two greatest secrets of Creation are number and name.
The end of beauty is math. The end of math is God.
There are a few biblical numbers, such as 3, 7, 12, 14, 21, 40, and 400, that repetitively mark seasons, timing, and destiny, as if these numbers program eternity.
The Bible is a book of numbers and names.
There’s a book called Numbers. The majority of books in the Bible are names.
Today, I want to reveal to you that the secret of destiny is in names.
(🫣 Please don’t go to a Gematria website and calculate your name—that’s probably not your REAL name. And it’s for your good that it’s hidden from men.)

Case study: analysis of my own name
For what did Jacob wrestle with God?
When God gives you a new name, He’s giving you a new destiny.
🦋Name-changing in the Bible:
Abram to Abraham (Changed by God)
Sarai to Sarah (Changed by God, same meaning, but Sarai is the possessive form)
Jacob to Israel (Yisrael) (Changed by God)
Hoshea to Joshua (Yehoshua) (Changed by Moses)
Solomon to Jedidiah (Given by God after David named him Solomon)
Levi to Matthew (Known as Matthew after he was called)
Simon to Peter (Changed by God)
Saul to Paul (Known as Paul after he was called. The kingdom of darkness knew him as Paul, not Saul. Acts 19:15)
🤼♂️Jacob wrestled for a new name
And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.”
But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!”
So He said to him, “What is your name?”
He said, “Jacob.”
And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”Genesis 32:26-28
What does that tell us? Jacob had been wrestling with God for a blessing.
And the change of name was the blessing Jacob wrestled for.
If you are like me, wondering why God chose Jacob over Esau—since the latter seemed like a good folk—God explained why in Malachi 1:3 and Romans 9:13:
It’s carnality.
Jacob was the opposite of carnality—he valued the blessings of the Lord above all else, to the degree that he would cheat and wrestle for them.
That’s what God is looking for in us: faith in His faithfulness.
And what is Jacob’s faith? He is determined to be blessed.
Many people will tell you that you can’t earn God’s favor. No, you can’t. It’s never your diligence that God rewards; it’s through your diligence that you show your faith in His faithfulness.
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrew 11:6
🌾Sifted as Simon, 🪨returned as Peter
Jesus didn’t change the names of the other disciples because they did not go through a sifting and returning as Peter did.
Judas was also "sifted," but without a new name, he had no return.
“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:31
Jesus didn’t call him Peter but Simon, for he had not become Peter until he “turned back” and “strengthened his brothers.”
Satan entered into Judas (Luke 22:3), putting the thought into his heart to betray Jesus (John 13:2).
But Satan asked for Peter as well.
One of the twelve must betray Jesus. The difference is that Jesus prayed for Peter but not for Judas.
I explained in this post below that Satan is accusing us in the heavenly courtroom nonstop. Our prayer is our defense. If we do not show up in prayer, the case will be decided in our absence. But in Peter’s time, he was not able to represent himself, as Jesus had not yet died for our sins. Jesus represented Peter and absolved him.
