Horror Story: Half of 2025 Has Passed—Are You Where You Wanted to Be?
We have come to the second half of May, the second half of 2025, the second half of the 2020s—time to level up in all areas and realms in 21 days. I will show you how.
I was being a killjoy here—but, I invite you to meditate on this fact:
“Fasting is giving up the most natural thing to get a supernatural result.”
I perceived the Holy Spirit nudging me to fast for 21 days in January with my church.
I didn’t.
I fasted for five days and aborted my blessing.
Throughout the past five months, I’ve not had as many breakthroughs as I used to when practicing my monthly three-day water fast. I knew in my spirit that the Lord wanted me to fast longer. Not seven days, not fourteen days—twenty-one days.
I heard His will clearly this month. The exact time I heard it was on May 9: Fast for 21 days and watch what I will do.
I sat on that for the next few days during my trip to a neighboring country, and His will became irrevokable. I must fast for 21 days.
To be fair, God gave me five months to mentally prep myself. It’s like pregnancy and delivery: now the baby’s head is visible, I must push.
Though I’ve never fasted this long, my experience told me—each time God led me to fast with strong desire and clear purpose, the fast was always easier and rewarding. I do not count on my self-control, but I will count on the Holy Spirit to strengthen my spirit so that my flesh will be strangled quickly.
Strangle. That’s the precise word I use over and over again whenever I preach death to self. It’s not beheading—not so quick; it’s not flaying—not so unnecessarily cruel; it’s not crucifying—though this sounds biblical—not so passive. When your spirit strangles your flesh, your flesh struggles for breath, but you keep forcing until it twitches no more.
I came to where I am today after trudging through the shadow of the valley of death for 7 months. I faced what Job described—what I feared the most has fallen upon me—and fasted my way out. Each month, each week, I fasted from 16 to 72 hours and fed on the Word of God. Then everything changed during my September fast, from the 9th to the 11th—I was anointed and baptized in the Holy Spirit. I was surrounded by angels the entire following month—and now still, of course, but that was the first time I sensed the presence of an army of angels, as the confirmation of my anointing.
I knew by then, I had died to myself. I had overcome the flesh, but “having overcome the flesh” is not enough, because it is written:
“I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.” 1 Corinthians 15:31
If Paul died daily, then so shall we.
But I became complacent. I still fasted each month, but I didn’t know what to fast for. It became a ritual—just like going to church. Carnal minds tell you that if you fast for a reward, you’re manipulating God, but the truth is counterintuitive:
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6
If you seek Him, you must believe that He will reward you. That’s faith.

God rewards those who seek Him with faith
Nothing proves your faith better than fasting—you sacrifice your body out of faith that you will surely be rewarded.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
Unfortunately, New Agers might have a better understanding of the evidence of things not seen than Christians.
If you come to God praying for a husband or a wife, but the way you live your life doesn’t look like you’re preparing for a wedding at all, then you don’t have faith. For men, you can’t pray for a wife and not start saving money for a ring; for women, you can’t pray for a husband and not sign yourself up for a bridal beauty program.
Your desire keeps you focused.
Your action shows your faith.
Brothers and sisters, we have come to the second half of May, the second half of 2025, the second half of the 2020s—so ask yourself:
Am I where I wanted to be?
If your answer is no, then this is a sign that you should join my 21-day fasting challenge. I don’t recommend you fast for 21 days unless the Lord has told you to, as He did me. But pray and ask Him about it. There are two approaches to fasting:
If you are an experienced “faster” with an emergency—do a REAL “Daniel fast,” meaning fast and pray until you get the answer. And I used to say you must enter an emergent fast like this with Esther’s attitude: “If I perish, I perish.”
Otherwise, set a goal before going into a fast, and make up your mind to push through. Don’t give yourself any wiggle room. Even a whisper of compromise in your heart will surely lead you to abort your fast—and sometimes your breakthrough—if you fall into the category of “to whom much is given, much is required.”
What to expect during these 21 days?
Honestly, I don’t know. I’ve never fasted that long. But there’s not a single thing God told me to do that I’ve done before, not a single accomplishment I had where I could see how it would work out from the beginning.
Call me reckless—but God needs reckless soldiers who overcome with the blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony, and who love not their lives unto death.
I’ve lived my life with this Esther attitude since I was a little girl, long before I gave my life to Christ: “If I perish, I perish.”
I remember Derek Prince’s comment on Esther, saying that he was so impressed by this woman because of her commitment to warfare. You don’t go to war expecting not to die. You don’t go to war picking your battlefield. You go as you’re commanded, and death is expected.
My spiritual father Tomi Arayomi said, “If God can’t find a man, He will use a woman.” Esther was from the tribe of Benjamin, the same tribe as King Saul, and the story of Esther only existed because of Saul’s disobedience to kill all the Agagites—Haman survived Saul and became Esther’s enemy.
Why do I call for fellowship during this fast?
Because I need accountability. I know my limits and human nature. I can’t do this by myself. Actually, no one can. Most people who do long fasts like this have their fasting support groups.
Didn’t Jesus tell us to fast in secret?
Yes, but don’t be religious and legalistic. It’s about motives.
First, Jesus said that because at that time, people fasted to be seen as holier than others. In our time, people don’t fast at all—not even with wrong motives.
Second, if you fast to be praised by men, then God will not reward you. Unfortunately, in our time, fasting doesn’t gain you any praise—only rebukes, even from Christians, because they’re offended by your devotion.
Third, you might have to tell somebody. Your family will know. And if you have social events, your coworkers and relatives might know. Just like if you’re an alcoholic: it’s best to tell others you have a problem—if they honor your decision, keep them; if not, cut them off.
Yes, be stubborn in your faith and be ruthless outside your focus.
At last, being an “influencer”, I have the obligation to use my platform to inspire others. I would never have tried fasting if Pastor Vlad Savchuk hadn't broadcast his 21-day fasting challenges year after year on his channel.
How do we get through these 21 days?
Gain knowledge about fasting: how to prepare, what to expect (physically, mentally, and spiritually), cheat codes, what to do during fasting, and how to break the fast. I will be sending some helpful videos.
Enter with clear purposes and strong desires: write them down. As I heard from the Lord, I wrote down 21 prayer requests. Each day I will focus on one area, so to have all my desires fulfilled, I will be motivated to push through.
Be determined: You won't make it if you're already thinking about backup plans.
Pray about fasting before fasting: ask for guidance, ask for visitation, ask for revelation, ask God to give you hunger for Him instead so it becomes much easier.
Read the Bible: All your eating and cooking time can now be spent with God. This is not a suggestion. If you don't read the Bible, you probably will not make it and will most likely suffer in vain.
Consume content about biblical fasting: I will share a collection of videos that I found helpful. The more you brainwash yourself in other people's miracles and breakthroughs, the more motivated you will be.
Do light cardio: Walking in the sun - nothing helps more than this.
More details will come as we go into the fast each day.

Substack: Whether you're a sister or brother, stay tuned here and make sure you have the app on your phone to engage in the Subscriber chat. (Link at the bottom)
Youtube: I will be (trying my best) posting videos each day. You can engage in the comment section. As for what I'm gonna talk about, I don't know yet. God will tell me. (Remember He said to Abraham, “to a place that I will show you.”)
Timeline:
Monday, May 19 - Tuesday, June 8.
You can join anytime. Just know the first three days will be hell. After you survive day three, you might feel led to fast even longer. So I highly recommend praying and mentally preparing yourself to fast at least four days—especially if you're already experienced with intermittent fasting. You might keep going after that.
Lastly, here are some articles I wrote on fasting when I was a newbie. I believe these will inspire you:
With all my heart, thank you Alice and thanks be to God. "...for they shall see God." Isaiah 64... "For since the beginning of the world, they have not heard nor understood with the ear, neither hath the eye seen another God beside thee, which does so to him that waits for him."
Thanks for sharing your journey with us on your fasting. I'm still a newbie at fasting so I'm still learning so you sharing about your experiences helps me learn!
